How do you keep track of time and bill your customers
In order to keep track of time your technicians spend on service requests, you need to add the "Billable Hours" text box to the action forms such as Respond to Submitter, Resolve and Close. Take the following steps:
1. Go to Services, Actions, click the Fields link for the Respond to Submitter action
2. On the fields page, look for the Billable Hours field, click Edit, check Display and Required and set its position, then click Update
Now, when someone respond to a request, he or she will be required to enter the billable hours. You can add that field to other forms the same way. To generate a billing report, go to Reports and click New Billing Report.
